Getting Started
There are so many things to consider in creating your dream space. When all of those decisions pile on top of each other, it can seem overwhelming. So where to begin?
Make the large conceptual choices and determine your “must haves.”
The best place to start is with a simple question: How do you want to feel when you’re in your space? Energized? Creative? Contemplative? Calm? Pampered? Making the large conceptual choices first will make all of the smaller ones more manageable, because you’re narrowing your scope.
Next, decide on your “must haves” to create that feeling. Whether you want a large pool to fit your family of five; the calming sound of a water feature; a top-of-the-line outdoor kitchen for your inner gourmand; or a large, open lawn to host neighborhood BBQs, start there. Get that first big decision out of the way, because all of the smaller decisions base off of that.
There is an endless number of options for your space: full outdoor kitchens, multi-level patios, fireplaces and fire pits, pools, water features, and so much more.
